Robert Gordon University (RGU) has a heritage going back 250 years, and it was granted university status in 1992.
Today Robert Gordon University delivers more than 300 courses to over 16,000 full and part-time students from 120 countries. Over the last decade RGU has consistently obtained one of the best records of any UK university for graduate-level employment and has been quoted in The Times Good University Guide 2013 as the best modern university in the UK - for the fifth year running-. A recent accolades include No. 1 Ranking as Top university for graduate jobs in the UK by HESA July 2013.
The focus at Robert Gordon University is on applied research. RGU has world class researchers in allied health professions, computer science, engineering, architecture, accounting and finance, business and management, library and information management, and art and design. The SIRENA LIFE project will benefit from RGU’s high expertise in drilling science and technology associated with its European hub for Oil and Gas industry which includes a full oil rig simulator. The project will also benefit from sustainable practices as well as air monitoring, environmental sensing and remediation expertise within the Institute for Innovation, Design & Sustainability. The research outputs in this area have been widely exploited in offshore platforms when indoor/outdoor air monitoring is highly critical. Further, RGU has a dedicated research on Environmental and Occupational Health within the Institute for Health and Welfare Research.
